Na Jie

Tsinghua University

Professor of the Basic Medical School of Tsinghua University, graduated from Peking University Health Science Center with a bachelor's degree, obtained a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Virginia, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge, and served as a Career Development Fellow at the British Medical Research Council. In 2010, he returned to China to teach at the School of Medicine, Tsinghua University. His main research directions are stem cells and regenerative medicine, the regulatory mechanisms of human pluripotent stem cell differentiation into cardiovascular cells, hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, and immune cells. He uses these cells to create organoid models to study human organ development and disease mechanisms, and to promote clinical translational applications such as cell therapy. He has published over 70 papers on stem cells, embryonic development, and organoids in international authoritative journals such as Nature and Science, and has obtained several national invention patents. In 2019, he won the First Prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education for Universities and Colleges.
