Li Jiao
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University
Former lecturer and associate professor in the Cardiology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. From 2015 to 2017, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Toronto General Hospital, University of Toronto, funded by the Chinese government. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and performs over 400 interventional cardiology procedures annually. His clinical research focuses on the application of intraluminal imaging techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, while his basic research focuses on the utilization and molecular mechanisms of stem cells in cardiovascular diseases.
He has published over 30 professional papers in internationally renowned journals such as AGING CELL, BIOMATERIALS, Stem Cell Research & Therapy, and Theranostics. He has hosted over ten research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2014, he was selected as a talent cultivation candidate for the "Thousand, Hundred, and Ten Talent Training Project" of Guangdong Province's universities. In 2015, he received the "Yangcheng Scholar" project from Guangzhou's universities. In 2016, he was a finalist for the American Heart Association's CVSA Young Scientist Award. In 2019, he was recognized as a youth talent reserve of high-level talents in Guangzhou. In 2020, he was recognized as a backup talent for the Nanshan Scholars program at Guangzhou Medical University. In 2021, he was selected for the 21st batch of Doctoral Service Corps by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. He is a committee member of the Translational Medicine Working Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Physicians Association and a member of the Cardiovascular Division of the Guangzhou Medical Association.
