Distinguished Professor of Tsinghua University, Dean of the Basic Medical School, Deputy Director of the Beijing Advanced Research Center for Biosciences, Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a Distinguished Professor under the Changjiang Scholars Program. He has long been committed to the study of epigenetics, discovering or elucidating the molecular basis of the functions of a series of methylation and acetylation regulatory elements such as PHD and YEATS, revealing the role of related recognition and catalytic events in the interpretation of genetic information, the determination of cell properties, and the development of diseases such as cancer. He has cooperated in the development of a platform for deep profiling of molecular interactions based on surface plasmon resonance imaging technology, successfully carrying out the development of several targeted inhibitors. So far, he has published over 110 academic papers or book chapters in international journals including Nature and Cell, with over 15,000 citations. He has also received honors and awards such as the Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award, the Chinese Young Scientist Award in Oncology, the Promega Cell Biology Innovation Award, the WuXi AppTec Life Sciences Chemistry Research Award, the Human Frontier Science Program (HSFP) Young Investigator Award, the Mao Yisheng Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award, and the Beijing Natural Science Second Prize (First Completer).
