Cheng Xiao Long

The Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University

Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Secretary of the Party Committee of the Second Clinical Medical College of Shanxi Medical University. Serving as the Standing Director of the Second Clinical Medicine Branch of the China National Ethnic Health Association and the Deputy Chairman of the National Alliance of Medical Humanities Education in Local Medical Colleges and Universities.

With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, he has served as a deputy editor or contributor to four textbooks. Primarily engaged in research on the pathogenesis of esophageal cancer, he has presided over three general projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, one provincial-level project, and one project funded by the Shenzhen Medical Research Special Fund. He has published nearly 50 papers in internationally authoritative academic journals as the first or corresponding author. He has been awarded the 2023 National Teaching Achievement Award (Second Prize), the 2021 Shanxi Science and Technology Award (First Prize), and the 2018 China Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award (Second Prize). He has obtained multiple invention and utility model patents.

In 2020 and 2022, the China Society of Graduate Education awarded him the title of "Advanced Worker" consecutively. In 2020, he was recognized as an "Outstanding Cadre for Taking Responsibility and Acting" by the Organization Department of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee.

Serving as the Standing Director of the Second Clinical Medicine Branch of the China National Ethnic Health Association and the Deputy Chairman of the National Alliance of Medical Humanities Education in Local Medical Colleges and Universities, he is currently the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Second Clinical Medical College of Shanxi Medical University.

Long committed to research on the pathogenesis of esophageal cancer, he has presided over three general projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, and one provincial-level project. He has published 27 papers in internationally authoritative academic journals as the first or corresponding author. He has been awarded the 2021 Shanxi Science and Technology Award (First Prize) and the 2017 China Anti-Cancer Association Science and Technology Award (Second Prize). He has obtained multiple invention and utility model patents and participated in the compilation of several books including "Systematic Anatomy."
