Dr Burgon’s research program is focused on cardiac and skeletal muscle adaptation to insults. Currently the lab is focused on defining the mechanistic basis of Muscle enriched Lamin Interacting Protein’s (MLIP) protective role in striated muscle with the goal of identifying new therapeutic avenues for both cardiac and skeletal muscle disease.
